Karen and I went to Recto nung Sunday to buy combat boots for her Saturday morning CAT. Then, we hopped to another jeep to go to Quiapo. Grabe, it really is the pirated DVD mecca. Kahit maraming pulis na nakakalat malapit dun. So ayun.. a manong approached us saying "Anong hinahanap nyo? anime? koreanovela? anime movie?". Tapos he lead us inside a building na maraming anime DVDs. Andaming mabibili, nakakawindang!
There are two girls na nagse-sales promo:
"Maganda yan, napatalon ako kakatawa"
"The best yan, dyan mo malalaman kung anung klaseng anime fan ka"
"Maganda yang Spirited Away, pati ung Howl's Moving Castle tsaka Tokyo Godfathers"... chuva.
We asked if they have Azumanga Daioh since yun talaga pinunta namin dun. They showed us a list of the titles that they have, meron nga pero we have to order it first and we can get it the following week pa. Baka mas mahal kaya we settled on "Genshiken" instead.
We also looked for "My Sassy Girl" coz my classmate hasn't returned my "MSG" CD. All of the tindero/tinderas tried to sell us "Sassy Girl Chunyang".
Kami: Meron po kayong Korean Movies (coz most of them are selling Koreanovelas)?
Manong: Meron! marami kami nun. Anong title ng hanap nyo?
Kami: My Sassy Girl po. Yun pong movie, hindi series.
Manong: Ay meron, ayan oh (shows "Sassy Girl Chunyang")
Kami: Hindi po yan, series yan eh, movie yung hinahanap namin... iisa lang yun, hindi maraming episodes.
Manong: Hindi, hindi... pwede ka bumili nyan paisa-isa lang (ibig sabihin nya tingi-tingi lang)
Kami: ....
Nakahanap din kami, it seems na they really don't know what they're selling. We had to look at the DVDs one-by-one para mahanap yung lintek na movie na yun na sobrang namiss na namin. Tadaaaah!!! we found an 8-in-1 DVD! My Sassy Girl, My Tutor Friend, Il Mare, Taegukgi, My Wife is a Gangster... and some na di ko matandaan. Happy happy joy joy! :D
we'll be having an anime & korean movies marathon this week. yey!!! (^___^)v
