I'm a crybaby... and it shows whenever I watch a movie, even documentaries on Animal Planet. But I seldom cry so much that I burst into uncontrollable sobbing fits. This happened when I watched Koizora (The Sky of Love) last night. How can a story about a teenage girl's first love be this heartbreaking?! [T_T]The first half of the movie was fast paced. I watched how the relationship of Mika and Hiro develop and how Mika had to go though rough roads in her young high-school life. A sweet story it really is but tragic one hour into the end of the movie. Mika compared Hiro to the river- flowing endlessly and leaving her behind. Hiro wanted to be the sky so that he can watch over Mika forever *sob*. From what I've read from reviews and summaries, this is a true story written by a newbie author named "Mika" and it was released as a series in cellphone novel stories. A very dramatic real-life story about love, friendship and family and I am grateful that she's written this story for without it we wouldn't have this beautiful movie.
The movie all throughout is wonderfully shot especially the breath-taking view of the skies over Japan. The actors of the characters were perfectly chosen. I was not a big fan of Yui Aragaki when I watched the series My Boss, My Hero. I just knew she's the cute dancing girl in the Pocky commercial. This movie made me appreciate her. Miura Haruma (the Gokusen 3 boy) as the loner bleached-blonde haired Hiro really impressed me with his acting. He excellently delivered his moody role. A little google search and I found out that he's only 17 years old- very young but he already has depth in acting. This kid will go far.
Okies... that is all. My eyes are still a little puffy from all the crying. I'll force my sisters into watching Koizora this weekend. hihi :D
